WINTEC has been developing innovative steel solutions since 1989 – in recent years with a focus on flood protection solutions.
In 2015, the patent pending product AquaBlokk was invented by Oliver Bach, founder of WINTEC. At its launch on the Danish market in 2016, the product was nominated as “New Product of the Year” by the association “Vandmærket” in Denmark.
With a patent and a solid reference, AquaBlokk has become known as one of the most creatively designed climate proofing products in Europe.
AquaBlokk sluices are designed and manufactured to meet the levels, capacities and requirements specified in each specific project. The hydraulic design is calculated by a qualified engineering firm.
Most used sizes range from 6m, 10m, 15m to 20m in width. Special sizes are available upon request.
Sluices can be operated by hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical gear motors and controlled automatically via autonomous control or connection to an ICS/internet, etc.
All systems are supplied as submerged/dry mounted units or as a combination.
The standard systems are mostly powered by 400V, 3 kW up to 15 kW, but can be adapted to any individual need.
AquaBlokk pump systems are available with capacities from
200 – 18,000 l/sec. depending on the type of pump.
KW consumption depends on power and lifting height (5.5 kW – 1 MW).
AquaBlokk is cast out of high quality concrete.
Pumps are made of cast iron or steel/galvanised or coated with epoxy to the desired correction class.
Alternatively, the pumps can be supplied in various stainless steel grades. The pumping stations are supplied with long-axle propeller pumps, submersible pumps or screw pumps.
For climate proofing installations, an emergency procedure (all risk) must be incorporated for repair and service, where all technical installations can be repaired within 12-24 hours (warning time). Therefore, a technician with access to components is assigned, so any type of repair can be started within 3 hours. Furthermore, an agreement with diving and crane company is necessary as part of the contingency plan.
The “Blokk in Blokk” function makes it possible to easily lift the lock elements up for service and replacement without excavation work!
With the “Blokk in Blokk” function, sluice modules are inserted into a prefabricated base module, which can be lowered or cast in concrete in an existing canal or basin.
AquaBlokk offers all the advantages normally achieved with prefabrication.
During the construction process, construction time on site is radically reduced. This reduces the cost of pumping out, pumping over or bypassing the water.
The contractor prepares the excavation pit so that it is ready for the lowering of the AquaBlokk.
AquaBlokk uses the latest thoroughly tested sluice and pump technology.
The prefabricated AquaBlokk elements set new standards for element construction and significantly reduce construction time and costs.
AquaBlokk offers the flexibility of LEGO bricks, as the individual elements can be combined as desired.
A sluice is not just a sluice… Only through knowledge, experience and long-term operation can you acquire the know-how needed to offer the right solution.
WINTEC has standardised sluice construction and branded it under the name AquaBlokk. The systems are delivered in prefabricated concrete structures. We have tried to visualise the many sluice solutions and types using pictograms.

AquaBlokk prefabricated pump systems can be used as stand-alone units or as an integral part of a sluice station.
AquaBlokk prefabricated pump systems are built in one or more modules, depending on the required capacity.
A block fitted with up to three propeller pumps typically has a capacity of
200-2600 l/sec. per pump. Maximum capacity 7,800 l/sec. per block (with propeller pumps).
AquaBlokk prefabricated pump systems can also be supplied with screw pumps, which offer an alternative capacity of 200 – 18,000 l/sec with one pump, 36,000 l/sec with two pumps, etc. This unit is supplied in several elements depending on the geodetic lifting height.
